We were the founding shareholders and partners of Arq, an innovative energy technology business focused on cleaning waste from the mining process and converting it into specialty carbon products. Over a seven year business partnership, we helped grow Arq from a start-up to an international business operation building the world's first waste reprocessing facility in Corbin, Kentucky, through strategic partnerships with Vitol, Mitsubishi, Peabody and Hafnia. The business was eventually sold to Advanced Emissions Solutions Inc, a NASDAQ listed activated carbon manufacturer in February 2023.
We advise and partner with management teams to make the transition of traditional energy infrastructure around the world into a greener future. We advised Greenfire Resources, a Canadian oil producer, in the acquisition of two facilities in Canada producing 30,000 bbl/d, including the Canadian operations of JAPEX, the Japanese National Oil Company, in partnership with the management team and Trafigura - with the aim of reducing the carbon intensity of Greenfire's production. We also oversaw the transition of Greenfire from a private company to a public company listed on the NYSE and TSX.
